Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the corrosion resistance and adhesion of a mechanically coated Zn film by adding a prescribed amount of Mg to Zn or further adding Al and Cu.
CONSTITUTION: A composition consisting of 3W10wt% Mg and the balance Zn or further contg. 0.1W60wt% Al and ≤3wt% Cu is melted and reduced to powder by atomizing or other method. A material to be treated is subjected to mechanical plating using the powder to obtain a film having about 10μm thickness. This film adheres well to the material and has superior corrosion resistance.
