Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase SV value and enhance treatment capacity by using a carbon material to which halide of metals listed in the periodic tables of 1B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B and 8 groups and ammonia is compositely impregnated at the temperature of 60-200 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:A carbon material such as active carbon or the like is immersed in solution constituted of one or two kinds of solution of halide of metals of 1B, 3B, 4B, 6B and 8 groups listed in the periodic tables of elements such as Ti, V, Cu or the like to which surplus volume of ammonia water is added. After ammonia water is added, said material is vaporized, dried and solidified by pressure reduction dried. Then, said compositely impregnated carbon material is used as catalysts, and ammonia is added to exhaust gas containing nitrogen oxide, which is in contact with the catalysts at the reaction temperature of 60-200 deg.C with SV value of around 1,000-10,000h<-1> and denitrated. By said process, denitration can be carried out by using the catalysts of inexpensive carbon material group at the low temperature efficiently, which is extremely advantageous for the industrial purposes.
