Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently absorb NOx, by converting NO in gas containing NOx into nitrite or nitrate N by contacting said gas with a treating liquid containing water- soluble phthalocyanin metallic complex compounds, reducing agents and water.
CONSTITUTION: A treating liquid is prepared which contains water-soluble phthalocyanin metallic complex compounds (For example, cobalt phthalocyaninsulfonic acid or its salt), which wt. % is not less than 0.0005 - especially, not less than 0.1, reducing agents (For example, L-ascorbic acid), which quantities are not less than equivalent mol to SO--3 in the treating liquid, and water in the remainder. An antifrothing agent is added to e treating liquid as necessary and SO--3 sources (For example, Na2SO3) is added for preparing for SO2 in exhaust gas. The pH of the treating liquid is adjusted to not less than 7 - especially, not less than 10, and the liquid is contacted with gas containing NOx, thus absorption removing NO in gas. Denitration rate is changed into a stationary condition after a fixed time, activity is maintained in a stable condition for a long term and high denitration rate is held by using this treating liquid
