Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a pull-down or pull-up circuit capable of holding in appropriate impedance over a wide range of supply voltages, by adapting the circuit such that either or both of metal oxide field effect transistors (MOSFET) is turned ON depending on whether a supply voltage is high or low. CONSTITUTION:Source electrodes of N-type MOSFETs 11 and 12 are connected to a power supply terminal -Vss while drain electrodes thereof are connected to an input terminal 13. The gate electrode of the MOSFET 11 is connected to a power supply terminal+VDD while the gate electrode of the MOSFET 12 is connected to an output of an inverter circuit 19. If a conductance constant of the N-type MOSFET 12 is larger than that of the MOSFET 11, the MOSFET 11 is turned ON and the MOSFET 12 is turned OFF when a power supply voltage is high. Accordingly, the power supplying capability of the MOSFET 11 fixes a pull-down resistance value. When the power supply voltage is lowered both the MOSFETs 11 and 12 are turned ON. Thus, an impedance value appropriate for a pull-down circuit can be held over a wide range of supply voltages.
