Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize the characteristics of an integrated circuit due to the stabilization of a substrate potential by connecting a clamping circuit between a ground terminal and a substrate potential terminal. CONSTITUTION:A clamping circuit 11 for clamping a semiconductor substrate potential with the predetermined number of MOS transistors is connected between a ground terminal and the substrate (a). That is, the clamping circuit 11 is provided in a semiconductor device having a substrate potential generator 10 composed of an oscillator 1, gate and drain connection N-channel enhancement type MOS transistors 2, 3 and an oscillation output coupling capacitor 4. The clamping circuit 11 consists of n pieces of N channel enhancement type MOS transistors Q1-Qn of gate and drain connection, and when the voltage between the drain and the source of the respective MOS transistors is represented by VF, the substrate potential becomes -nVF. In this manner, the substrate potential can be stabilized even if the power potential VC is abruptly varied.
