Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce homogeneous acicular powder which has high purity and is unified in a crystal growth direction by forming a porous anodized Al film on an Al sheet and electrodepositing a metal in the pores thereof, then removing the oxide film. CONSTITUTION:After the high-purity Al sheet of about >=99.99% is subjected to pretreatment such as degreasing, the sheet is anodized by an oxalic acid method or sulfuric acid method to form the porous anodized Al film of a prescribed thickness on the Al sheet. The sheet is then immersed for about 1-15 minutes in an about 1-10% phosphoric acid soln. at about 20-40 deg.C by which the pore diameter of the film is adjusted. After the metal or alloy is electrodeposited in the pores of the film, the film is removed by etching and the acicular powder of the desired metal or alloy is produced. The high-purity acicular powder is thereby obtd. by the simple method and the shape and size thereof are easily controlled.
