Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the load of a magnetic bearing and to miniaturize the magnetic bearing by using Meissner effect of a superconductor provided in a rotary plate opposed to the magnetic force of a permanent magnet placed on the magnetic bearing. CONSTITUTION:A thrust collar 4 of a rotor 1 opposed to a stator 2 is housed in a bearing oil tank 5 in which the lubricating coil 6 is stored, the thrust runner 7 is immersed into the lubricating oil 6, and a thrust bearing 8 supports the load. On one side, the magnetic bearing 9 supports the thrust load of the rotor 1 by attracting the thrust collar 4 by a built-in electromagnet 10. A rotary plate 11 is provided on a rotary shaft 3 at specific intervals with the magnetic bearing 9, and a superconductor 13 consisting of Nb3Sn, NbTi, etc., is placed and provided on the lower side of the rotary plate 11 and cooled, then the superconductive state is obtained. One the other side, a permanent magnet 12 opposed to the superconductor 13 is provided to the top surface to the magnetic bearing 9. The repulsion is produced by Meissner effect between the permanent magnet 12 and the superconductor 13 and the load of the magnetic bearing is reduced.
