PURPOSE:To reduce the resistance loss of a rotor coil by composing the rotor coil of a superconductor having a critical temperature higher than that of liquid helium. CONSTITUTION:A thrust collar 5 of a rotor 1 opposed to a stator 3 is housed in a bearing oil tank 6 in which the lubricating oil 7 is stored, and a thrust runner 8 is immersed into the lubricating oil 7, then a thrust bearing 9 supports load. A rotor coil 10 is the rotor coil constituted of an oxide superconductor having a critical temperature higher than that of liquid helium, for example, it is formed of the superconductor consisting of Y-Ba-Cu-O. A superconductive state is obtained through cooling by liquid nitrogen, therefore, a running cost is reduced in comparison with the cooling of liquid helium, and its equipment is miniaturized.
