Abstract
PURPOSE:To form 'Permalloy(R)' films having low anisotropy magnetic fields and to obtain a recording medium having good recording and reproducing characteristics by laminating and forming the 'Permalloy(R)' films dividedly in plural times as an underlying layer. CONSTITUTION:Plural layers of the 'Permalloy(R)' films 11 are laminated by dividing film formation to >=2 times and interrupting the formation for a prescribed period during the course of the formation and a cobalt perpendicular recording layer 12 is formed thereon at the time of forming the above-mentioned 'Permalloy(R)' film as the underlying layer. The 1st layer of the 'Permalloy(R)' film 11 is first formed on the surface of a base 10 and after the formation is interrupted for the prescribed time in this state, the 2nd layer of the 'Permalloy(R)' film 112 is formed thereon. After such formation is repeated n times, the recording layer 12 for perpendicular magnetization is formed on the surface of the n-th layer of the 'Permalloy(R)' films 11n. As a result, the respective films of the 'Permalloy(R)' films 11 are magnetically separated, by which stripe- like magnetic domains are hardly formed and HK is surely lowered. The recording medium having the good recording and reproducing characteristics is thereby obtd.
