Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease the crosstalks between adjacent tracks by adopting a thin film having a difficult axis in the direction perpendicular to the sliding surface of a thin film magnetic head to be used for a floppy disk, VTR, etc., for the thin magnetic film which constitutes the lower core of said head. CONSTITUTION:A lower magnetic core 2, an upper magnetic core 3 and a conductor coil 4 are provided respectively via insulating materials onto a magnetic head substrate 1. The cores 2, 3 are formed of 'SENDUST(R)' films consisting of Fe.Al.Si, etc., and are formed by a heat treatment after sputtering or electron beam vapor deposition. Then thin magnetic film to form the lower core 2 is so imparted with magnetic anisotropy that the difficult axis is generated in the direction 6 perpendicular to the sliding surface 5 of the head, i.e., the direction crossing between the respective tracks is the easy axis, by which the magnetic permeability in the direction crossing the tracks is decreased and the leakage of the magnetic flux in the adjacent track direction is decreased. The magnetic permeability in the direction perpendicular to the sliding surface 5 is, therefore, increased and the head efficiency is improved.
