Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption at transient state by making a voltage supplied to a FET lower than the voltage of a bipolar transistor(TR) in an inverter circuit being a composite circuit comprising a FET being a component of a C-MOS inverter and the bipolar TR. CONSTITUTION:With an input terminal 1 at a high level, N-channel MOSFETs 4, 5 and a bipolar TR 8 are turned of and a P-channel MOSFET 3 and a TR 7 are turned off. Conversely with the terminal 1 at a low level, the TRs 4, 5, 8 are turned off and the TRs 3, 7 are turned on and no power is consumed in the steady-state. When the terminal 1 changes from a high to a low level, the TRs 5, 8 are turned off, the TRs 3, 7 are turned on and the TR 4 is turned off and the output terminal 2 goes to a high level by a power supply Vcc'. The voltage of the power supply Vcc' is selected lower than the Vcc, then the power consumption at the transient state is reduced.
