Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease recording current and to improve the output of a reproduction signal and the S/N of the reproduction signal by coating a thin superconductive film onto the upper side in at least a gap part of a magnetic recording and/or reproducing head. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head formed by coating the thin superconductive film to the upper side in at least the gap part is constituted by coating the thin superconductive film 6 consisting of Y-Ba-Cu-O onto the lower part in the gap part of the ring type core 1 and the outside peripheral face (including inner side face as well), except a coil leading out part, of the coil 2a used commonly for recording and reproducing. The smaller recording current is thereby necessitated in the case of obtaining the same intensity of magnetization and the S/N and output at the time of reproducing are improved.
