Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform vertical recording efficiently by forming a groove from a recording-body sliding surface, and then providing winding around a core on a recording body exit side or near a rear gap, and a gap-side core. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head, and a recording-medium entrance side core 9 and a recording-medium exit side core 10 face mutually across a gap 14 to obtain an annular structure. The core 9 is composed of a ferromagnetic material core 11, and from the side of the recording-medium sliding surface, a groove 16 is formed in such a way that the core 9 is U-shaped. The core 10, on the other hand, is composed of a ferromagnetic thin film 5. Winding consists of the 1st winding 16 provided around the core 10 or a core near a rear gap and the 2nd winding 17 provided around a core closer to the gap than to the groove 15 of the core 9.
