Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high-strength and high-performance magnetic head core where a head core, where the core yoke is constituted by ferrite materials, is provided and a high-saturation magnetic metallic film such as permalloy and sendust is provided on the gap matching face of the core yoke. CONSTITUTION:A head core for magnetic disc consists of core yoke 1 formed with ferrite materials, gap 3 for recording and reproducing formed by glass bonding technique and so on, winding 4, and so on. Metallic thin film 2 such as permalloy and sendust is formed on the matching face of gap 3 of back edge side core yoke 1, at least, of this core yoke 1 by adhesion by technique of sputtering, evaporation adhesion, and so on. As a result, the allowable degree for head core chip saturation for recording becomes several times as high as the conventional ferrite head, and further, the frequency characteristic for reproducing is improved.
