Abstract

PURPOSE:To uniformly and sufficiently disperse and stir a mill base by forming a helical groove on the circumferential surface of a drum-type agitating blade, the formation of the helical groove being done in a direction which enables media to be transferred from the outlet side of a dispersing chamber to the inlet side thereof. CONSTITUTION:A helical groove 9b is formed on the circumferential surface of a drum-type agitating blade 4, the formation of the helical groove being done such that media are transferred from the outlet side near a discharge vent 8 of a dispersing chamber 2 to the inlet side of the dispersing chamber. When the agitating blade 4 thus-grooved is rotated in the dispersing chamber 2 of a vessel 1, a mill base which has been packed into the dispersing chamber is powdered and dispersed. The media 3 thus powdered and dispersed are apt to concentrate in the outlet side of the dispersing chamber 2 due to a liquid-supplying power. However, since the helical groove 9b has been formed on the circumferential surface of the agitating blade 4, the media 3 are forced to move to the inlet side of the dispersing chamber 2 through the helical groove 9b. Therefore, the media 3 are uniformly dispersed in the dispersing chamber 2, whereby the movement of the media can be kept ideal for the mill base to be powdered and dispersed.
