Abstract

846,198. Mixing appliances. KARIM, A. A. Sept. 12, 1958, No. 29333/58. Class 86 [Also in Group XXX] A bulking, blending or mixing appliance for granular produce, e.g. coffee beans, comprises a container 14 having a funnellike lower portion 15 and outlet valve means 16 and provided internally with two conical of pyramidal deflectors 17, 18 mounted to leave annular spaces 19, 20 between their rims and the container wall. Material is supplied to the feed hopper 12 whence it is transferred by the bucket elevator 11 and shoot 13 to the container where the different grades initially lie in layers. The valve 16 being opened the material is circulated through the mixer by the shoot 21 and elevator 11. When blending is complete (after about five passages through the machine) the material is discharged through the pipe 23, 24 by removing the cap 22 of deflector 17.
