Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the transport of electrolyte easy by installing a means with which a mixed liquid of electrolyte and liquid is transported to fuel cell compartment, a means with which liquid in the mixed liquid transported is removed, and a means with which the electrolyte obtained is melted and supplied to an electrolyte layer. CONSTITUTION:A carbonate aqueous solution 1 prepared by dissolving or dispersing carbonate in liquid such as water and stored in a storage tank 2 is transported to an electrolyte chamber 5 in a fuel cell compartment 12 through a supply pipe 4 with a pump 3. The electrolyte chamber 5 is heated with a heater 6 and water in the carbonate aqueous solution is vaporized and exhausted from an exhaust pipe 7, and only the carbonate is accummulated in the electrolyte chamber 5. Then the pump 5 is stopped, and an electrolyte layer 9 placed between an electrode 10 and an electrode 11, the electrolyte chamber 5, and a supply pipe 8 are heated to the melting temperature or more of the carbonate, and the molten carbonate is transferred to the electrolyte layer from the electrolyte chamber by making the electrolyte in a liquid form without holding in high temperature, heating of supply pipe and temperature control are unnecessary, and the electrolyte is easily transported.
