Abstract

PURPOSE:To aim at the promotion of reduction in an intershafting distance between a turning shaft and a generator shaft and a generator shaft by setting up a generator oppositely at one end side of the turning shaft being rotated by a crankshaft, and interposing a shift mechanism consisting of an internal gear and a pinion between the generator shaft and the turning shaft. CONSTITUTION:A transmission case 7 is solidly installed in the rear of a crankcase 3 of an engine 2, and a hollow turning shaft 8 is pivotally supported on this case 7 in parallel with a crankshaft 4. This turning shaft 8 is rotated by rotation of the crank-shaft 4 via a silent chain 13. And, a DC generator 14 is set up in one end side along the axial direction of this turning shaft 8, and an interval between the generator shaft 16 and the turning shaft 8, there is provided with a shift mechanism 35 which increases a speed of the turning shaft 8 and transmit is to the generator shaft 16. The shift mechanism 35 is engaged with the internal gear 36 installed in one end part of the turning shaft 8 and a tooth part 36a of this internal gear 36. That is to say, it is constituted of the internal gear and the pinion 38 clamped to the generator shaft 16.
