PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body high in sensitivity and durability by forming a photosensitive layer containing a specified bisazo type compd. on a conductive supporting body. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer formed on the conductive supporting body contains one of the bisazo type compd. represented by formula I in which R is lower alkyl group; each of Z1 and Z2 is a divalent group represented by formula II; and A is a divalent aromatic hydrocarbon group or a divalent heterocyclic ring group contg. N atom in the ring, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be high in sensitivity, good in color sensitivity, high in stability at the time of repeated uses and superior in durability.
