Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity of a photoconductive film by incorporating specified bisazo pigment. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer 4 is composed of a carrier transfer layer 3 and a carrier generating layer 2 successively laminated on a conductive supporting body 1. The layer 2 contains as a carrier generating material a bisazo pigment represented by formula I in which A is a group represented by formula II or III or the like; B is single bond or a divalent residual group; X is an atomic group necessary to form a hydrocarbon ring or heterocyclic aromatic ring by condensation; Z is O, S, or the like; and each of R1, R2, and R is H, lower alkyl or the like. The photosensitive, layer 4 can be formed on an interlayer formed on the supporting body 1 and the layers 2 and 3 can be laminated in the reverse order and the layer 4 can be formed also in a single layer structure.
