Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a photoreceptor superior in resistance to heat, light, etc., by forming on a conductive substrate a laminate photosensitive layer containing a specified hydrazone compound in a carrier transfer layer, or a single photosensitive layer containing a mixture of a carrier generating substance and said compound. CONSTITUTION:A carrier transfer layer 3 formed on a conductive substrate 1 contains in a binder a compound represented by the general formula in which n is 0 or 1; R1, R2, R3 are each H, optionally substituted alkyl, aralkyl or aryl; and R4 is aryl optionally substituted by dialkylamino, diphenylamino, or the like. A carrier generating layer 3 containing an organic or inorganic carrier-generating substance is formed on the layer 2 to form a photoreceptor having a laminate type photosensitive layer 4. The layers 2, 3 may be laminated reversely, thus permitting a photoreceptor superior in durability sensitivity, etc. to be obtained.
