Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to obtain a high critical current value by processing superconductive ceramic pressed powder body to make a wire material having the C axis of crystals directed perpendicular to the processing direction and oxidization heat-treating in an oxygen containing atmosphere to remove strain and to adjust insufficient oxygen amount.
CONSTITUTION: R-A-Cu-O-based superconductive ceramic powder of average grain size of 5μm or less is loaded into an oxygen permeating cylindrical case made of Ag or Cu and is subjected to an explosive force to form a superconductive ceramic pressed powder body having 98% or more of theoretical density ratio. The pressed powder body is then processed with an area reduction ratio of 60% or more to make a wire material with the C axis of crystals directed perpendicular to the processing direction. The wire material is further oxidization heat-treated at temperatures 300W850°C in an oxygen containing atmosphere to remove strain from the wire material and to adjust insufficient amount of oxygen through an oxygen permeating casing layer(coated layer). This makes it possible to obtain the superconductive ceramic wire material showing a high critical current value.
