Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to obtain a high critical current value by processing a specific alloy raw material in a condition of being coated with Ag into a wire material, oxidizing it, and oxidizing the alloy completely with atmosphere oxygen dispersed and permeated through the Ag coating layer.
CONSTITUTION: An alloy raw material containing the rare earth elements (R) including Y, alkaline-earth metal (A) and Cu is coated with Ag and processed into a wire material. The wire material is then oxidized. As a result, oxygen in the atmosphere disperses and permeates inside through the coated layer so that the internal alloy is completely oxidized. The wire material in this way is made to have for example a composition of YBa2Cu3O7 as a superconductive ceramic. This makes it possible to manufacture a superconductive ceramic wire material showing both high critical temperature and critical with a simple process at low cost.
