Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress the oxygen deficiency of a ceramic superconductor and improve the superconductive characteristics in a superconductive wire to be obtained by using a silver pipe containing oxygen in the oversaturated state. CONSTITUTION:The ceramic powder 1 with the superconductive composition is filled in a silver pipe 2 containing oxygen in the oversaturated state, a filled body thus obtained is wire-drawn, a wire-drawn body is heat-treated to sinter the ceramic powder 1 in it. The oxygen content in the silver pipe 2 is set to 100ppm or more, preferably 100-2000ppm. The ceramic powder filled in the silver pipe 2 has the superconductive composition, raw materials such as Y2O3, Y(NO3)3.xH2O, BaCO3 are mixed at the mixing ratio to form a superconductor, e.g., the composition of YBa2Cu3Op or Y1-qBaqCuOr, or the mixture is temporarily fired and sintered to obtain the superconductor, and it is crushed. The oxygen deficiency in a ceramic superconductor thus obtained is suppressed or prevented.
