Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize the mass production of an optical fiber cable whose characteristic is arranged uniformly, by loading and supporting the whole of the halves of the optical fiber cables on a drawing table. CONSTITUTION:Supporting means 3c and 4c which support the whole of the halves of the optical fiber cables 1 and 2 are provided on the drawing tables 3 and 4, and the whole of the halves whose exposed parts forming the couplers of the optical fiber cables 1 and 2 are separated by a mirror are loaded and supported. In other words, optical fibers 1A and 1B are coupled between the drawing tables 3 and 4, and also, it is possible to connect between the light measuring instruments of the drawing tables 3 and 4 only by the optical fibers 1A and 1B even when the end parts of the optical fiber cables 1 and 2 supported on the drawing tables 3 and 4 are connected to the light measuring instrument which manages a manufacturing process, etc. As a result, a reaction force from the optical fibers 1A and 1B applied on the drawing tables 3 and 4 can be reduced. In such a way, since it is possible to set the value of tension applied on the optical fibers 1A and 1B constant and to arrange a manufacturing condition at a constant level, the mass production of the optical fiber coupler with a uniform characteristic can be easily attained.
