Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease the mis-alignment of optical fiber end faces on both sides to be connected by providing a supporting part for supporting a clamp to an isolating part on at least one side of a V-groove group on an arraying surface provided with the V-groove group. CONSTITUTION:This optical fiber arraying base is constituted by providing a projecting part 1-3 to the isolating part on one side of the V-groove group 1-1 provided on the arraying surface 1-2 of the arraying base 1. The projecting part 1-3 is formed to the height equal to the height at which the optical fibers 3 project from the arraying surface 1-2. The surface of the clamp is, therefore, paralleled with the arraying surface and the optical fibers can be uniformly retained. The mis-alignment of the optical fiber end faces on both sides to be connected which is a major factor for a connection loss in the subsequent welding and connection is thereby decreased and, therefore, the low-loss connection is facilitated.
