Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the exfoliation of metallic layers for soldering from electrode terminal parts and to maintain the good connection with a cable by providing notches in which the electrode terminal parts are passed to the electrode terminal parts and providing the above-mentioned metallic layers on the electrode terminal parts. CONSTITUTION:The notches 10, 10 are formed respectively to the terminal parts 8a, 8a... of the transparent electrodes 8. These notches 10, 10 have respectively a rectangular aperture shape and are formed by being passed onto the terminal parts 8a, 8a. Silver paste is then coated by printing on the terminal parts 8a, 8a... to cover the notches 10, 10 and is thereafter calcined by heating, by which the metallic layers 9, 9 are formed. Then, the metallic layers 9, 9 extend into the notches 10, 10 and adhere tightly to an SiO2 film 7 at the time of the calcination by the heating when the silver paste is coated through the notches 10, 10 onto the SiO2 film 7. The flexible flat cable is, thereupon, securely adhered to the metallic layers 9, 9 in case of soldering the cable to a liquid crystal display element 1, and an unexpected exfoliation of the cable is thus prevented.
