Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a ceramic coil in a simple and easy manner, by shaping a coated body spirally and calcining the coated body with the ceramic layers spaced from each other by a coating material so that spirally shaped ceramics is obtained. CONSTITUTION:A ceramics material in plasticized state is molded into a linear body 11 having a circular cross section. The surface of the linear body 11 is coated with a coating material 13 to obtain a coated body 15. The coated body 15 is wound closely on the outer periphery of a hollow and cylindrical core 17 from one end toward the other end of the core 17, such that the coated body 15 is shaped spirally and forms multiple layers. A composite body 10 thus obtained is calcined within air at a temperature of about 600 deg.C for about one hour by means of an electric furnace. The composite body 19 is further calcined at a temperature of about 900 deg.C for about ten hours. Thereby, the coating material 13 and the core 17 are molten away while spirally shaped ceramics 21 is left. In this manner, a ceramic coil 23 can be obtained easily.
