Abstract

PURPOSE:To stably cultivate substances to be cultivated for a long period and efficiently produce useful components thereof in a large amount, by alternately and repeatedly performing a step of dipping the substance to be cultivated in a culture fluid and a step of bringing the substances to be cultivated into contact with an oxygen-containing gas. CONSTITUTION:A discharge port 5 is formed at the bottom of a housing part 3 for housing substances 2 to be cultivated in a cultivation vessel (A) and a nozzle 9 for blowing off an oxygen-containing gas or culture fluid to the housing part 3 is formed. A return port 7 for suitably communicating through a return conduit 6 with the discharge port 5 is formed in a storage vessel (B) and a recirculation port 11 is formed at a given position below a liquid level (16a) of the culture fluid 15 in a constant amount stored in a reservoir part. Furthermore, a constant amount of the culture fluid positioned above the recirculation port 11 is passed through a conduit 10 and blown off from the nozzle 9 to the housing part 3 under a pressure of the oxygen-containing gas by a pressurizing means. The destination of the oxygen-containing gas is alternately changed over from the upper part of the culture fluid 10 in the vessel (B) to the nozzle 9 by a controlling means.
