Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high frequency heating device in which a rush current is reduced so that reliability and endurance in an interrupting relay are much improved, by finding an optimum switching phase based on a voltage phase obtained in a voltage detection means and on a current value and a phase obtained in a current detection means. CONSTITUTION:A secondary voltage phase of a low-voltage transformer 13 is taken by a supervisory means 15. When this phase is identified with an optimum switching phase of an interrupting relay, a relay B5 is turned on. An initial value of a rush current at that time is compared with a present value. When the present value is larger than the initial value, it is compared with a predetermined maximum rush current value. When the maximum current value is larger than the present value, a switching phase angle is made to lead by 10 deg.. Repetitive operations are performed to find an optimum phase angle of the relay B5. Even if an operation time of the relay B5 is dispersed, the optimum switching phase angle can be found accordingly. When this phase angle is memorized in a non-volatile memory or the like, the rush current can be reduced at any time in use of this high-frequency heating device, so that reliability and endurance in the interrupting relay are much improved.
