Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the constitution and to surely control running of a vehicle by using one detecting sensor whose output signal is changed in accordance with the distance from a guide provided along a vehicle running course and comparing output signals detected at intervals during running with one another to obtain a steering angle correcting command.
CONSTITUTION: The output signal of a detecting sensor 2 and a steering angle detection output signal from a steering angle detecting means 7 are stored in a signal processing storage part 8 in a certain position, and the vehicle is moved to another position on the basis of the signal of a clock 6 to obtain the output of the sensor 2 again. This output is compared with the output stored in an operating part 9 to obtain the change of the distance from the guide, and the direction in which the vehicle should go is determined in accordance with the stored steering angle of a steering wheel. Thereafter, a steering angle control part 10 is driven and the steering angle is corrected to continuously run the vehicle along the guide.
