    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. 対向して配置され、入射光を偏光分離・合成す
    る第１および第２の直角プリズム付き偏光ビーム
    スプリツタと、前記直角プリズム付き偏光ビーム
    スプリツタの間に配置され、前記第１、第２の直
    角プリズム付き偏光ビームスプリツタ間を通る直
    線偏光の振動方向を制御するスイツチング素子と
    を有する光スイツチにおいて、前記第１、第２の
    直角プリズム付偏光ビームスプリツタ間に少なく
    とも１つの偏光ビームスプリツタを追加するとと
    もに、この追加した偏光ビームスプリツタの一つ
    に直線偏光を入射する様に構成したことを特徴と
    する光スイツチ。
