Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a safe trichogenous hair-growing agent free from skin stimulation, by using an active component produced by extracting a herb drug KANTSUI (dried root of Euphorbia kantsui) or TAKUSHITSU( Euphorbia helioscopia L.) with a water-soluble organic solvent or its mixture with water. CONSTITUTION:The objective trichogenous hair-growing agent contains 0.5-5.0wt.% extract of crude drug KANTSUI or TAKUSHITSU. The above crude drug extract is a viscous substance produced by extracting KANTSUI or TAKUSHITSU with an organic solvent such as methanol, ethanol, acetone, THF, dioxane, etc., or its mixture with water 3 times for 2hr each under warming. The crude drug extract is optionally dissolved, dispersed or diluted with a proper solvent and is compounded to a base to produce a trichogenous hair- growing agent. The trichogenous hair-growing agent is safe to the skin and can be continuously applied without causing dermatitis, etc.

Conventionally, various compounds and extracts of crude drugs have been used to promote hair growth and green hair, but few have shown significant effects, and those that have some effect may cause dermatitis. As a method for obtaining the hair growth/green hair promoter applied to the present invention, 100 g of the herbal medicine of Seshu or Riho is mixed with a primary alcohol such as methanol, ethanol, propatool, butanol, or acetone, terahydrofuran, or dioxane. Digestion extraction is performed three times for 2 hours each using an organic solvent alone or a water-containing organic solvent 11 containing at least 50% by weight of the above-mentioned alcohol, acetone, tetrahydrofuran, or dioxane.
