Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 [発明の目的] (産業上の利用分野) 本発明は、例えば、プラスチック又は紙の片面に金属フ
ォイル層と熱可塑性樹脂を順次重ねた材料で形成した容
器蓋と、胴部とで構成するジュースの容器等の高周波溶
着装置に関するものである。
(従来の技術) 従来の容器製造の装置として、乳酸飲料等に使用される
ように、プラスチック胴と接着材をコーテングしたアル
ミフォイルシール材によって、高周波溶着が可能なよう
に胴の開口部に鍔を設けて、一定の溶着面積を確保して
シート状の蓋を溶着する装置や、紙、プラスチックの円
筒胴部に金属蓋を巻き締めする装置が知られている。
(発明が解決しようとする問題点) しかしながら、容器の軽量化、使用済空缶の焼却処理の
問題から金属缶に代るプラスチック、紙容器の製品化の
要求が多くなってきている。
又、前者は胴の開口部に鍔を設ける必要があり、工程が
多く、溶着も面倒な問題点があった。
そこで、本発明においては蓋を鍔付の凹状に形成するこ
とにより、広い面積の溶着面を形成して確実に溶着する
ことができる高周波溶着装置な提供しようとするもので
ある。
[発明の構成] (問題点を解決するための手段) 本発明における容器の高周波溶着装置は、筒状の容器と
容器の開放端に嵌合する外周に鍔を有する凹状の蓋との
一方に金属フォイル層を設け、この金属フォイル層の溶
着面に熱可塑性樹脂層を設け、先端の径を細く後方の径
を太くしたテーパ面を有し、径方向と直交する方向にス
リットを全体に設けた2次コイルと、蓋の凹状部に2次
コイルのテーパ面を嵌入して加圧する容器を支持した支
持部材と、2次コイルを挟んで蓋の反対側に2次コイル
に磁気結合するように近接配置した1次コイルとから成
るものである。
(作 用) 本発明においては、筒状をした容器の開放端に蓋を嵌合
し、容器を加圧することにより蓋の凹状部に2次コイル
のテーパ面を嵌入して蓋を外周方向に拡げて容器と密着
させ、1次コイルに高周波電流を流し、2次コイルに2
次電流を流し、金属フォイル層を加熱して熱可塑性樹脂
を溶融して蓋と容器とを溶着させる。
(実施例) 本発明の構成を図面に示す実施例に基き詳細に説明する
と、1は木材、セラミック、合成樹脂等の電気絶縁体若
しくは高周波損失の小さい金属(例えばアルミニュウム
)等で形成したターンテーブルで、周縁部よりやや内側
に貫通孔2(第2図参照)を設けて2次コイル3を嵌入
保持している。
2次コイル3は第4図に示すように、電気伝導度が良好
な金属でほぼ円筒状に形成する。そして、下端部にター
ンテーブル1に取付けるための取付周鍔4を水平に突設
し、下端から上方に向って径を太くしたテーパ面5を設
け、上端から下端に亘ってスリット6を設けている。又
、2次コイル3の上面には第1図に示すように1次コイ
ル7を2次コイル3の上面に磁気結合できるように近接
して設置し、高周波電源8からの電流を流し、1次コイ
ル7の回りに高周波磁界が生じ、2次コイル2の上端面
が1次コイルに電磁誘導結合される。
一方、ターンテーブル1の下方にはこのターンテーブル
1と同期回転するターンテーブル9を設けている。この
ターンテーブル9は絶縁材で形成し、多数の支持部材l
Oの昇降棒11を昇降自在に嵌入支持している。
各支持部材10は下端に下側水平支持部12を設け、対
向する上側水平支持部13は、下側水平支持部12より
も短かく形成し、上下側水平支持部13.12を垂直連
結材14で連結し、上側水平支持部13の反回転方向側
に半円形の嵌入部15を設けて円筒状をした容器16を
嵌合し、容器16の下面を下側水平支持部12で支持す
ることにより容器16を保持するようになっている。
そして、上側水平支持部13の嵌入部15より反回転方
向側上面にアーム17を水平に固定している。
尚、図中18は支持部材10を加圧するためのコイルス
プリングである。
又ターンテーブル9の上方には蓋供給具19を設置して
いる。この蓋供給具19は開放上端外周に鍔20を有す
る凹形をした蓋21を供給するようになっており、この
蓋供給具19の下端にストッパー22(第5図参照)を
設け、ターンテーブル回転方向側に内周側に順次傾斜さ
せた案内板23を設け、案内板23の下面に下面支持板
24を水平に設けている。
本実施例は前記のように構成したもので、図示を省略し
た容器供給装置から供給された容器16は支持部材10
の嵌入部15に嵌入され、下面を下側水平支持部12で
支持される。そして、ターンテーブル2,9の回転に伴
ない各支持部材lOが蓋供給具19の下方に位置すると
、蓋供給具19のストッパー22で係止している蓋21
が、アーム17で押されて蓋供給具19から離れ、下面
支持板24で支持され蓋か案内板23との接触により内
周側に移動し、容器16の開口部に近づき最終的に開口
部上面に嵌合される。
前記の状態においてターンテーブル2.9が回転し、1
次コイル7の下方に位置した際に、カム等の昇降機構に
よりコイルスプリング18が加圧され、昇降棒11を介
して支持部材10が上昇し、蓋21が2次コイル3に嵌
合される。2次コイル3は下側が下端が細いテーパ状を
なしたテーパ面5で形成されているので、下方からの押
正によって蓋21の凹状部の内面は外周方向に押圧され
、容器16の開口部内側に蓋21を密着する。
前記の状態で1次コイルに高周波を印加すると、1次コ
イル7の回りに高周波磁界が生じ2次コイル3の上面か
1次コイル7に電磁誘導結合される。したがって、2次
コイル3の上面に高周波の2次電流が誘起し、第4図に
矢印で示すように上面の端面に沿って流れる。この高周
波2次電流は、スリット3のところに達すると、このス
リット6の縁部に沿って下降して下面に至り、次にこの
下面に沿って流れるようになる。この時の電流の向きは
、2次コイル3の筒体の上面と下面とでは逆になる。そ
して、下面に沿って流れている高周波電流はスリット6
のところに達すると、このスリット6の他方の縁に沿っ
て上昇し、上面に至り、再びこの上面に沿って流れるよ
うになる。
前記、高周波電流の流れにより容器16の金属フォイル
層が加熱され、金属フォイル層の面に施された熱可塑性
樹脂が溶融して容器16と蓋21とを溶着する。
尚、容器と蓋とは少なくとも一方が、金属フォイル層の
片面に熱可塑性樹脂を施し、この熱可塑性樹脂と他方と
が当接できるようなものであればよいものである。
又、容器16の加圧手段は各種の機構を用いることがで
きる。
[発明の効果] 本発明においては従来の容器のように容器に鍔を設ける
必要はなく、充分な溶着面積を得ることができる。
又、2次コイルのテーパ面により容器と蓋とを確実に密
着させることができるので溶着な確実に行うことができ
る。

  1. 筒状の容器と容器の開放端に嵌合する外周に鍔を有する
    凹状の蓋との一方に金属フォイル層を設け、この金属フ
    ォイル層の溶着面に熱可塑性樹脂層を設け、先端の径を
    細く後方の径を太くしたテーパ面を有し、径方向と直交
    する方向にスリットを全体に設けた2次コイルと、蓋の
    凹状部に2次コイルのテーパ面を嵌入して加圧する容器
    を支持した支持部材と、2次コイルを挟んで蓋の反対側
    に2次コイルに磁気結合するように近接配置した1次コ
    イルとから成る容器の高周波溶着装置。
