Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、プラスチックパイプ取分は暖房、給湯に使用
されるプラスチックパイプの接続方法に関するものであ
る。
〔発明の背景〕
現在、暖房用、給湯用パイプとして、主に銅パイプが使
用されているが、(i)高価である。(II)流水によ
る腐食が発生する。(iii)熱放散率が高いなどの欠
点を有している。その為、低価格、耐食性、低熱放散率
を備えたパイプの材質として耐熱性の合成樹脂、例えば
、架橋ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン等のパイプが使用
されるようになった。しかし乍ら、パイプ同志、或はパ
イプと暖房器等の機器との接続において以下の様な問題
があった。即ち、接続部分において、一般に錆を発生し
ない真チーウ、銀金を継手として使用している為、材料
費及びネジ部等の加工費が高くなり、コストの高いもの
であった。また、樹脂は金属より熱膨張率が大きく、そ
の為接続部にゆるみが生じやすく、漏水する恐れが高い
ものであり、ヒートサイクルがかかった場合、特にいち
じるしい。
〔発明の要約〕
本発明は、プラスチックパイプの従来の接続方法におけ
る上記欠点を克服するために為されたもので、容易に接
続作業ができ、かつ、得られた接続部がヒートサイクル
に対しても漏水の恐れのない接続方法を提供するもので
あり、その要旨は、互に接続されるプラスチックパイプ
の端末を突き合わせ、該突き合わせ部上に透明な第1の
熱収縮性チー−ブを、該第1の熱収縮性チー−ブと上記
プラスチックパイプとの間に示温塗料を含む層を配し、
被せ、次いで該第1の熱収縮性チューブを上記示温塗料
が変色するまで加熱収縮せしめ、然る′後、上記第1の
熱収縮性チー−ブよりも長尺の第2の熱収縮性チューブ
を上記第1の熱収縮性チー−ブの上に加熱収縮せしめる
ことを特徴とするプラスチックパイプの接続方法にある
〔発明の詳細な説明〕
本発明において応用されるプラスチックパイプは、主に
ポリエチレン、架橋ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン等の
ポリオレフィン、硬質ポリ塩化ビニル樹脂などのいわゆ
る汎用プラスチックから成るもので、本発明は特に温水
配管として使用する一場合熱変形しに<<、溶融しない
架橋ポリエチレンパイプに対して特に有効である。
本発明にふ・ける第1の熱収縮性チー−ブは、該第1の
熱収縮性チー−ブとプラスチックパイプとの間に配され
る示温塗料を含む層が加熱により変色することを確認で
きる程度に、透明であり、例えば、特に顔料等の不透明
な充填材を含まないポリオレフィン、ポリ塩化ビニル樹
脂、ポリエステル(ポリエチレンテレフタレート)から
成るチューブが挙げられる。
料をプラスチックチューブの上に塗布することによって
配させてもよく、又は第1の熱収縮性チューブの内面に
示温塗料を混入させた接着剤を予め設けることによって
、第1の熱収縮性チューブとプラスチックチューブとの
間に配させてもよい。
本発明における第2の熱収縮性チー−ブは、第1の熱収
縮チー−ブと同様の材料から成るチ−ブであってもよい
が、プラスチックパイプの接続部の場所(例えば屋外)
に応じて、必要な添加剤(例えば屋外の場合は紫外線に
ょる脆化防止のkめカーボンブラックを1%程度混入す
る)を添加した材料が用いられる。第2の熱収縮性チー
−ブは、第1の熱収縮性チー−ブの両端を覆う程度に長
尺なもので、肉厚は、第1の熱収縮性チー−ブを保護す
るに必要な程度でよく、保護するに充分であれば薄くて
もよい(例えば1 mm以下)。
本発明を図面に従って以下に説明する。
第1図は互に接続されるプラスチックパイプの端末を突
き合わせるときの斜視図で、(1)、(1’) はそれ
ぞれ互に接続されるプラスチックパイプ、(2)は第1
の熱収縮性チー−ブ、(3)は第2の熱収縮性チューブ
である。突き合わせ部におけるプラスチックパイプの内
側に例えば架橋ポリエチレンから成る中子(4)を設け
てもよく、中子(4)を設けなくても接続部分の強度が
充分である場所に接続部分がある場合は、特に設けなく
ともよい。
プラスチックパイプ(1)、(1’)の端末の突き合わ
せ後、第2図に示す様に第1の熱収縮性チー−ブが覆わ
れるプラスチックパイプ上に示温塗料(プラスックパイ
プが例えばポリエチレンから成る場合は150℃〜18
0℃で変色する示温塗料)(5)を塗布し、その後透明
な第1の熱収縮性チー−ブ(2)を被せ、バーナ(6)
等の加熱具を用いて加熱収縮せしめるか、示温塗料を塗
布する代りに、示温塗料を混入した接着剤層を内面に設
けるか示温塗料そのものを内面に塗布した第1の熱収縮
性チー−ブ(2)を被せ、加熱収縮せしめる。加熱は示
温塗料(5)が変色する迄なされ、変色により収縮が完
成したか否かが判断される。
然る後、第8図に示す様に、第1の熱収縮性チー−ブ(
2)の上に第2の熱収縮性チューブ(3)を被せ、加熱
収縮せしめ、第4図に示す様にプラスチックパイプの接
続が完成する。
本発明は、以上説明したプラスチックパイプの接続方法
であるから、以下の様な効果を奏する。
(1)第1の熱収縮性チー−ブ及び第2の熱収縮性チュ
ーブは、プラスチックパイプと同様、プラスチックであ
るので、プラスチックパイプと熱収縮性チー−ブとの熱
膨張係数の差は非常に少さく、従って、従来の金属製の
継手を使用した接続に比べ、ヒートサイクルによる漏水
がほとんどない。
(11)ネジ止め等の作業が不要で、加熱するだけで接
続ができるので、接続作用が繁雑でなく、容易である。
(tii)ネジ部等を有する金属製継手に比べ、熱収縮
性チューブは、インジェクション等の成形方法により成
形された連続のチーーブを、連続的加熱膨張して冷却す
ることによって製造されるので、安価であり、従って接
続のコストが安い。
(lv)出来上ったプラスチックパイプの接続部分は、
ネジ止め部分等がないので、金属製継手に比ベコンパク
トになり、狭い配管場所においても接続部を設けること
ができる。

によって得られたプラスチックパイプの接続部分を示す
斜視図である(1)、(1’)・・・・互に接続される
プラスチツクノ(イブ、(2)・・・・・第1の熱収縮
性チューブ、(3)・・・・・・第2の熱収縮性チー−
ブ、(4)・ 中子、(5)・・・・示温塗料、(6)
・・ バーナ。

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. (1)互トて接続されるプラスチックパイプの端末を突
    き合わせ、該突き合わせ部上に透明な第1の熱収縮性チ
    ー−ブを、該第1の熱収縮性チー−ブと上記プラスチッ
    クパイプとの間に示温塗料を含む層を配して、被せ、次
    いで該第1の熱収縮性チューブを上記示温塗料が変色す
    るまで加熱収縮せしめ、然る後、上記第1の熱収縮性チ
    ー−ブよりも長尺の第2の熱収縮性チー−ブを上記第1
    の熱収縮性チューブの上に加熱収縮せしめることを特徴
    とするプラスチックパイプの接続方法。
