Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 (イ)産業上の利用分野 本発明は光学的な記録媒体に関するものCあり、レーザ
光等の光及び熱エネルギーを用い℃情報を高密度に記録
し、か一つ再生可能な記録媒体に関する。
レーデ光線を利用して高密度な情報の記録・再生を行う
装置及び技術は公知である。そして光学的記録材料につ
いては、レーザ光の照射によりビ/ト(凹部)を形成す
るものと、照射部の光学的特性を変化させるものとがあ
る。本発明は、前渚の方式に関する。
(ロ)従来技術 レーザ光等の工事ルキービーノ、をltl、iL、て、
基板上の金属等の薄膜を溶融あるν・番ま蒸発さt−λ
、ピットを形成する方式の記録材料としてcよ1εJ変
力く高く、基板−Fの記録層の膜厚が均一であり、3己
録信号を長時間保持できることが必要−でおる。
この方式の記録材料としてはテルノLhくよ<飼]られ
ているが、テ几+Lは、短時間(こ酸化しrlliρイ
Lデルルになり、透明になるため番こ、光パγ白’J 
!l賢1’1g(反射率、透過率等)が変化し、信号を
ilT ’IE 4ることができなくなるという欠、壱
があ−)た。更(こ、う−ルル薄膜では、粒塊等が発生
しゃ4゛lV)ノ、I 11/)、均・なテルル薄膜を
得ることがガ1いIIヒlV)うりζ、l;’、(力)
あった。
(ハ)目的 この発明は、上記欠点を改善し、IJ ltl1間(コ
4)たって記録再生ができる記録媒体を提供−4る、−
とを目的とする。
(ニ)構成 本発明は、基板上にテルルとブタンと銀の非晶質薄膜を
形成し、記録信号の保持の長期化を図るように構成した
ものである。
(ポ〉実施例 本発明に係る記録媒体は、テルル(Te )、アタニウ
l、(■1)、銀(Ag>からなる非晶質薄膜である。
薄膜の構成は、 TeTe100−x−yTixA  (0< x< 5
0、Q<y<50、x、yはモル%) である。
かかる記録媒体を用いた場合、テルル薄膜に比/\(、
より長期間光学的変化を抑大ることができるので、記録
信号の保持期間も長くできた。かつ、記録感度も、テル
ル薄膜を用いた場合と同等の感度で記録することができ
た。また、テルル・チタン・銀の非晶質の薄膜であるた
めに粒塊等の発生がなく、均一な記録層を形成すること
ができる。
本発明の実施例を図面に従って説明すると、基板(1)
上に、蒸着またはスパツタリングによって、上述の組成
をもつ非晶質薄膜(2)を形成する。、−れに上方(基
板側でない方)または下方(基板側)より再生し−ザ光
を照射し、記録層にで反射されたレーザ光を、同しく上
方または下方に配置きれた読出し手段で受(Jることに
より、情報を再生することができる。
(へ)効果 テルル・チタン・銀の非晶質薄膜を用いたので、従来の
テルル薄膜に比較して、記録感度は殆んと同等で、記録
信号の寿命をより長くすることができ、まだ容易に均一
な記録層をつくることができるという効果が得られた。
