Description

【考案の詳細な説明】 本考案は、合成樹脂管外周面にサドル継手を融着接合す
る際に、両方の接合面を同時に加熱して溶融させる管融
着用熱板に関し、特に合成樹脂管外周面の溶融を均一に
して強固な接合が得られる管融着用熱板に関する。
従来、新設、又は既設の合成樹脂管から枝管を取り出し
て分配配管を行う場合、合成樹脂管の外周面にサドル継
手を接合し、該サドル継手を介して枝管を取り出すこと
が行われている。
この際、合成樹脂管とサドル継手との接合は、第2図に
示すような熱板1を用いて合成樹脂管2の外周面と、サ
ドル継手3の接合面とを同時に加熱して溶融させ、次い
で第3図に示すようにサドル継手を合成樹脂管の外周面
に押付けて融着接合していた。
しかしながら、従来の熱板は、合成樹脂管の外周面を加
熱する凹状弧面11の曲率半径を常温時の合成樹脂管の
半径寸法と一致させていたので、合成樹脂管が熱板と接
触して熱膨張したときには、管外周面と凹状弧面11の
中央部との間にすきまが生じて加熱が均一に行われなか
った。
また、熱板を合成樹脂管に強く押付けてすきまをなくそ
うとすると溶融した合成樹脂が削ぎ落とされてビード2
1が生じ、この部分から亀裂の発生することがあった。
本考案は、かかる従来欠点を解消したものであって、合
成樹脂管外周面と、該管外周面に接合するサドル継手の
接合面とを同時に均一に加熱して強固な融着接合が得ら
れる管融着用熱板を提供するものである。
以下、本考案を図面にて説明する。
第1図は、本考案の一実施例を示す正面図で、あって、
図中1は熱板、2はポリエチレン樹脂等からなる合成樹
脂管、3は、管2と同種の合成樹脂からなるサドル継手
である。
熱板1は、アルミ合金、鉄、銅等の金属材にて形成され
、その内部にはニクロム線等の発熱体が埋設されている
この熱板1の下面に合成樹脂管2の外周面を加熱する凹
状弧面11を形成し、上面にサドル継手3の接合面を加
熱する凸状弧面12を形成する。
この時、熱板1の凹状弧面11の曲率半径R1、及び凸
状弧面12の曲率半径R2は、常温時の合成樹脂管2の
直径寸法Doを基準としていずれも下記の(1)、(2
)式の条件を満たす範囲内で、熱板の加熱温度とあわせ
て適宜設定できる。
Do/2<R1<Do/2(1+1150)・・・(1
)R2中R1・・・・・・・・・(2) 好ましくは、R1をDo/2(1+1/100)以下に
するとよい。
尚、凹状弧面の曲率半径R1をDo/2より小さくする
と第2図の従来例で述べたように、加熱時に管外周面と
凹状弧面中央部との間にすきまが生じ、また、Do/2
(1+1150)より大きくすると、従来例とは逆に管
外周面と凹状弧面両端部との間にすきまが生じ、いずれ
の場合にも加熱が均一に行われなくなる。
本考案の一例として、呼び径50Aのポリエチレン樹脂
管(外径寸法: 60 mm、厚さ;8mm)にサドル
継手を融着接合する場合、曲率半径R,(=R2)は、
30<R1<30,6mmノ範囲で設定できるが、熱板
(材質ニアルミ合金)の凹状弧面、及び凸状弧面をいず
れも3Q、15mmの曲率半径で形成し、該熱板を約2
60℃に加熱したとき極めて良好な結果が得られた。
すなわち、この熱板をポリエチレン樹脂管外周面、及び
サドル継手接合面に50秒間押付けて約200℃に加熱
したとぎ、管外周と熱板とは緊密に接触して接合面全体
がむらなく溶融し、しかも、ビードの発生もなく、極め
て、強固な融着接合が得られた。
以上の如く、本考案は熱板の熱膨張と、合成樹脂管の熱
膨張とを考慮し、合成樹脂管の加熱時に管外周面と熱板
との間にすきまが生じないように熱板の凹状弧面の曲率
半径を決定したので合成樹脂管の加熱が均一に行え、接
合面全体がむらなく溶融して極めて強固な融着接合が得
られる。

    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. 合成樹脂管外周面と、該管外周面に接合するサドル継手
    の接合面とを同時に加熱する熱板であって、常温時の合
    成樹脂管の外径寸法をDoとする時、該管外周面を加熱
    する凹状弧面の曲率半径R1をDO/2<R1<DO/
    2(1+1150)とし、またサドル継手の接合面を加
    熱する凸状弧面の曲率半径R2をR2圭R1としたこと
    を特徴とする管融着用熱板。
