Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable prevention of abnormal thermal deformation by newly feeding a low pressure turbine with more air than cooling air quantity leaking from a low pressure turbine rotor sealing section, in a steam turbine which performs forced cooling.
CONSTITUTION: Heated air from an intermdiate turbine flows into a low pressure turbine 3 via a crossover pipe 9. By this, pressure of condenser 10 rises. This pressure rise is measured by a pressure gauge 21 and a leakage from a rotor sealing section 16 is calculated. Opening of a flow control valve 23 is controlled with an operation signal from this pressure gauge 21 and cooling air exceeding a leakage from the sealing section 16 is supplied in the condenser 10, namely a low pressure turbine 3. This supply is stopped just before operation of a safety device 10 set at the low pressure turbine 3. In this way, inflow of heated air into the low pressure turbine from the crossover pipe 9 is stopped and abnormal thermal deformation can be prevented.
