Abstract

PURPOSE: To smoothen turbine operation and elongate the use life of a turbine by fitting an adjustment system to a steam turbine system and controlling the cooling steam jet amount according to the temperature characteristic of the turbine material.
CONSTITUTION: Cooling steam 2 from a high-pressure turbine 1 flows through a cooling steam feed valve 7 to be mixed with reheating steam 6 and injected into the central portion 8 of a rotor 9 of a medium-pressure turbine 3. The steam turbine system is fitted with an adjustment system 21 which uses the cooling steam flow rate detected by a flow rate oscillator 19, the generated power detected by a power meter 17, and the mixed cooling steam temperature detected by a thermometer 20 as inputs and controls the opening of the valve 7 through the function of a low-pass limiter 23. The use life of the turbine is elongated by conducting proper cooling by determining the set point of the adjustment system 21 according to the temperature characteristic of the turbine 3.
