Abstract

PURPOSE: To elongate the use life of a turbine by incorporating in a steam turbine controller the acceleration time and load increase time as functions of turbine stop time.
CONSTITUTION: A speed/load arithmetic unit 1 in a steam trubine controller is fitted with a turbine stop time meter 2, acceleration function generator 6, and load increase function generators 8 and 9 which are connected with a speed/load instruction value setting circuit 12. A turbine stop time signal 5 is fed to the acceleration function generator 6 and a load increase function selector 7, and the generated acceleration rate signal 11 is directly fed to the circuit 12. A timer signal 24 showing that turbine stop time has surpassed a predetermined time period and a timer signal 25 showing that turbine stop time has not surpassed a predetermined time period are fed to the circuit 12 through load increase function generators 8 and 9 which take up the signal from a main steam temperature detector 26. The output of the circuit 12 is compared with a speed feedback signal 22, amplified by the deviation in an amplifier 23, and used to control an inlet adjusting valve. Acceleration rate and load increase rate for minimizing thermal stress on turbine can be selected based on the turbine stop time and the purpose can be achieved.
