Abstract
PURPOSE:To permit sure electric discharging with a pin electrode and make the formation of good latnet images free from dot drop-out possible by removing the electrostatic charge charged unifomly on an electrostatic latent image forming surface from the regions other than reproduced image parts. CONSTITUTION:A drum 20b coated with a dielectric film 20a on the surface is used as a recording drum 20, and is uniformly electrostatically cahrged with an electrostatic charging corotron 21. Next, electric discharge is induced between a pin electrode 22 disposed without contacting with the drum 20 and the drum 20 to form latent images with said electrode 22 in the margin parts other than the image patterns, and the developing bias potential of a magnetic brush developing machine 28 is set at the intermediate potential of the potential in the latent image parts and the uniformly charged part to stick the negatively charged toner in the electrostatically on the remained uniformly charged part, thence the positive electric charge of the reversed polarity from the toner is applied from the rear of plain paper 25 with a transfer corotron 24, whereby the latent images are electrostatically transferred. Thereby, the good latent images free from dot drop-out are formed.
