Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the intake inertia effect by extending a plurality of branched pipes, surrounding the outer periphery of the surge tank installed in an intake passage, and obtaining a proper length of the intake pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A surge tank 7 is connected to the top edge of the intake tube 5 equipped with an air cleaner 3 and an air flow meter 4. The same number of openings 13 as the number of the cylinders 2 are installed at a part of the bottom wall 7b of the tank 7. The opening 13 is communicated to the passage area 14 formed on the outer periphery of the tank 7, and the other edge area of the passage area 14 already turning around the tank 7 is communicated to the branched pipe 8 which is communicated to each cylinder 2.
