Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the flow of sucked air uniform to improve the measurement of air flow by use of an air flow meter by providing a buffer plate within an air cleaner of an internal combustion engine provided with an electronic fuel injection valve.
CONSTITUTION: A bypass air path 9 which makes a detour around a Venturi tube 7 is provided in a throttle chamber 5 forming the Venturi tube and a heat wire type air flow meter 10 is provided within the air path 9. An air cleaner 1 containing therein an element 2 is fitted at the upper part of the air cleaner 1. An arcuate buffer plate 4 is arranged at the front part of the element 2 on the side of the suction port 11 of the air cleaner to make uniform the flow of air sucked from the suction port 11.
