PURPOSE: To reduce a volume of nitrogen oxides by a method wherein liquid mixed with fine powder fuel and liquid are injected into an area where the main burner completes its combustion, and at the same time either an oxygen or air is supplied to the area as required.
CONSTITUTION: Fine powder coal C1 is fed to a pulverized coal burner 13 by a coal feeder 16 with a carrier gas of a primary air A1, and secondary air fed from the blower 18 is added to the coal so as to complete combustion in the furnace 11. Mixture liquid C3 of pulverized fuel and liquid is atomized by an atomizing stream S and blown into the combustion furnace 11 by an atomizer 101. Third air is blown from nozzle 20 so as to perform a complete combustion of unburnt fuel.
