Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform digestion treatment of org. sludge stably by providing an overflow pipe which overflows sludge when the sludge level rises above prescribed value to a digesting vessel for org. sludge tratment by microbes, and withdrawing the sludge overflowed from said pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A sludge pump 2 is driven to charge sludge into a digesting vessel 1 at the amt. set at a set value Ws by a charging setter 5. While this charged sludge is agitated by the digesting gas supplied through an air diffusion pipe 9 by an agitating blower 8, it is digested by the effect of anaerobic microbes, whereb the org. materials in the sludge are decomposed to gaseous methane and carbon dioxide. When the level of the digested sludge attains the overflow level of an overflow pipe 10, the sludge overflows into a sludge withdrawal vessel 11. Since the density of the charged sludge of this time is higher than the density of the digasted sludge, the charged sludge moves downward and therefore only the digested sludge overflows. The digested sludge flowed into the vessel 1 is sent to the next process.
