Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the floc separability in a settling tank and to perform returning of sludge into an aerobic tank sufficiently by adding an iron salt to waste water such as waste water of stack gas desulfurization, and forming S2-, HS-, H2S, etc. in an anaerobic treatment process.
CONSTITUTION: In an anaerobic treatment stage, part of waste water 5 is introduced together with the return sludge 6 from a settling tank 2 into an anaerobic tank 1, where an iron salt 7 is added and an anaerobic treatment is accomplished. Iron chloridge, iron sulfide, etc. are usable for the iron salt, and sulfuric acid reducing facteria are made dominant by the addition thereof, whereby the S2O6 2- in the waste water is reduced to S2-. Mixed liquid in the tank 1 are withdrawn slightly each time, and are subjected to solid-liquid separation in the tank 2. The solids are returned as the return sludge 6 into the tank 1, and the supernatant is introduced into an aeration tank 3 as the stage of the next step, where an anerobic treatment is accomplished. In the tank 3, part of the waste water 5 and the return sludge 8 are introduced and air 9 is diffused, whereby aeration by mixing is accomplished.
