Abstract

PURPOSE:To sufficiently cool the plug seats in such a way that a cooling water path which runs around the plug seats is formed inside the water jacket on the plug seats' sides in a cylinder head. CONSTITUTION:A cooling water path 14 is formed by means of a bulkhead 16 around plug seats in a cylinder head 7. And a feeding port 3 on the cooling water path 14 is provided on the side which is far away from the inlet port 1 of a water jacket 15, and a communicating port 17 to the water jacket 15 on the water path 14 provided on the side which is near to the inlet port 1. Cooling water is controlled by installing a thermostat 4, a pressure valve 5 on the water jacket 15. The structure is formed so that cooling water which has run through around plug seats 13 is communicated through a communicating port 17 to the water jacket 15, and can sufficiently cool around the plug seats 13.
