Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate easy mounting of an engine on a vehicle chassis by mounting a cooling water circulation pump on the outside surface of one of left and right cylinder blocks to shorten the length of a cooling water outlet pipe thereby minimizing the size of the engine. CONSTITUTION:A cover 3 for a timing transmission device 9 is fitted on cylinder blocks 11, 12. A cooling water circulation pump 0 is fitted on the outer side surface of the left cylinder block 11. An intake port 15 connects with a radiator 18 via a pipe 17. An outlet port directly connects with an inlet port that opens to the outer side of the left cylinder block 11 and the other outlet port connects with an inlet port that opens to the outer side surface of the right cylinder clock 12 via a horizontal pipe 20 formed in one unit with the cover 3. The size of the engine is minimized and easy installation is enabled in this way.
