Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure accurate and long-time sampling for a trace of component in the air, by providing a means that measures the liquid level of the absorbed liquid in a scrubbing bottle and a tank that supplies the absorbed liquid to ensure a constant level of liquid. CONSTITUTION:The gas to be inspected is sucked into a scrubbing bottle 1 by an air pump 4 and turned into bubbles by an air diffuser plate 5. Thus the water-soluble salts are collected into pure water 6. For the residual gas, the greater part of mist are turned into waterdrops by a mist separator 13 to be turned back to the water 6. This water receives an adjustment of flow rate by valves 8, 9 and 10 after passing through drain traps 22 and 23 to be discharged through an instantaneous flow rate meter 11 and an integral flow rate meter. When the level of the water 6 lowers during the sampling, a level switch 19 detects this to open a solenoid valve 18. Thus the pure water in a supply tank 17 is supplied to the bottle 1 by the gas which is set at a certain level of pressure through a cylinder 15 and a regulator 16. Then the level of the water 6 is recovered.
