Abstract

PURPOSE: To spare the water sampling work for inspecting the water quality with a view to maintaining the water quality of a wide area by using an automatic water sampling float which is operative to automatically sample the water with the use of its spuit mechanism and to float in the water after the sampling operation.
CONSTITUTION: When an automatic water sampling float is poured into water, a water-soluble member 11 is dissolved to set a retaining rod free so that a spring 13 is elongated to move a diaphragm 2 upward. By the action of a spuit mechanism 16, the water is sampled through a water inlet 5 and a water cylinder 6 in a container. If the pressure in the container is balanced with the water pressure, the suction of water is interrupted so that a valve 15 is seated upon its seat 8 to shut off a hole 7. And, the float is allowed to hold its position having its sampling port directed downward by the effect of a weight 11 and to float in the water. The float flows down in the water passage until it is recovered by a downstream collecting unit so that it is transported, as it is, to an analyzing unit. Thus, it is possible to spare the sampling work for inspecting the water quality.
